Quaid-e-Azam Medical College was established in 1970.
now it is about 45 years past when this Medical College was founded.
Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital, which has more than 100
years history of its own, is affiliated with this college for
clinical training of students. It started as 36 bedded hospital and is now a full fledged tertiary care hospital, consisting of almost 1500 beds. This hospital offers the most modern diagnostic, curative and instructional facilities. It caters for the healthcare needs of a wide area of Southern Punjab, Sindh and Baluchistan with a population of more than 12 million. First Principal of the College was Professor Alamdar Hussain. Prof. Dr. Khalid Abbas Bukhari is the current principal of the college.
The institution is offering various postgraduate programmes such as DOMS, DTCD, DCH, MS, DGO, DA, DLO , DCP , Orthopaedics, MS Urology and also FCPS in 16 faculties.The college has produced thousands of graduates over the years and is also running B.Sc programmes in Optometry, Audiology, Physiotherapy and Medical Lab Technology. Ample hostel facilities are available for both male and female students. The college magazine, ‘Quaid’ is published annually.
